YOGA is one of the six Orthodox Systems of Indian Philosophy. It was collacted, co-ordinated and systematized by Pathanjali Maharshi in his classical work, the YOGA Sutras. In Indian thought, everythig is permeated by the supreme universal spirituality ( Paramathma or God) of which the individual human spirit ( Jivatma) is a part.
One who follows the path of YOGA is a YOGI or YOGIN
The work YOGA is derived from the Sanskrit root yuj meaning to bind, join, attach. It is the true union of our will with the will of God.
YOGA is the method by which the restless mind is calmed and the energy is directed into constructive channels. Undoubtedly, the mind is restless and hard to control. But it can be trained by constant practice (Abhyasa ) and by freedom from desire ( Vairagya )There are Eight stages of YOGA
1. Yama (Universal moral commandments)
2. Niyama (Self Purification by discipline)
3. Asana (Postures)
4. Prana-ya-ma (Rhythmic Control of Breath)
5. Prathya-ha- ra (withdrawal and emancipation of the mind from the
domination of the senses and exterior objects - Prathya-hara-
6. Dharana ( Concentration)
7. Dhya-na ( Medictation)
8. SAMADHI (a state of superconsciouness broght about by profound
meditation, in which the individual aspirant becomes one with the
universal spirit.
The Regular Practice of Asanas (Postures) brings steadiness, health and lightness of limb, keep the body from diseases, reduce fatigue and sooth the nerves and endocrine glands, give more oxygen to body, and revitalize the entire body. It is effective for so many diseases. So considering the medical importance of YOGA, we offer facilities to patients to practice YOGA after the treatment.
